Bad to the Bone - Jeri Smith-Ready What I loved about the first book was how steeped in music it was. There was so much about the culture of radio and music and the role that it plays in both culture and life. This book didn't have as much of that and that's why I didn't like it as much. I still love the main characters and watching them develop their relationship. But it looks like the series is turning more away from the DJs and the radio station more toward The Control and vampire police type stuff. I hope I'm wrong and the DJs stay front and center because there's a bajillion vampire hunter/cop type books out there. But this one gets a fourth star for Dexter, the awesome vampire dog.
