I'm just loving this series. This one started a little slow for me, I found myself missing Kell. He's such a charismatic character. But once it took off I was hooked again. This time we find out that it's one thing to overthrow a tyrant and a whole other thing to run the government. But this isn't a 9th grade civics course, far from it with armies gathering on all sides, a spy within the inner circle and self-doubt for both Vin and the young King, Elend. Vin is still a great heroine, strong enough to be an absolute force but young enough to make some terrible mistakes. This one ends a bit more uncertainly than the first one but the "middle book" in the trilogy usually does. Can't wait to wrap up the story with the third.
