Hot on Her Heels - Susan Mallery The villain is the hero of his own story. Not sure where I first heard or read that, probably in some writing class but it's true enough. Any 3 dimensional villain has his own reasons and logic behind his actions. And that's certainly true of Garth. He's come a long way since the first book in the series. He's still no one's teddy bear but he has his reasons for wanting revenge and is able to change his ideas of what that means as he gets to know his sisters. I loved Izzy's idea that they way to stop him wasn't to fight him but to bring him into the family fold. There are some fun, awkward moments hug and emote and interact with Garth in a way he obviously isn't used to.

I also loved that prickly, guarded , friend of the family Dana is the woman to get under his skin. So often it's the young, innocent, ingenue type that redeems the bad boy. I'm not really a fan of that cliche so I'm glad that wasn't the case here. Overall this was a satisfying end to a fun series.
