I enjoyed this entry in the Anna Pigeon series. There was the usual excellent narration by Barbara Rosenblatt. I'm liking how they are all set in different parts of the country, at different national parks. Barr using a lot of detail in describing the surroundings but since they are always different and interesting (worthy of a national park) the detail works for me. I also enjoyed that this was basically a "locked room" mystery only set in the great outdoors. Anna's team is cutoff by a firestorm so there are only so many people who could be the murderer. The addition of Frederick Stanton's POV keeps it from being too claustrophobic and the description of the firestorm and Anna's fatigue while waiting for rescue are gripping.
