Edge of Dawn (Midnight Breed, #11) - Lara Adrian When a suspicious amount of teenagers started showing up in later books of the Midnight Breed series I was worried that Lara Adrian might be looking to enter the YA market. Not that I would blame her, Barnes & Noble might as well be named Teen Book City at this point, but it's not my cuppa. So I was happy to find that instead of teen angst she took the explosive events of [b:Darker After Midnight|12042279|Darker After Midnight (Midnight Breed, #10)|Lara Adrian|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1313987798s/12042279.jpg|12985451] and shows us the fallout 20 years later. Those teens & kids are now grown up and living in the much different, but no less dangerous, world than the world their parent inhabited.

In this story, Mira is now an adult and takes after her adoptive parents and is a warrior for the Order. Kellen, the teen taken in by the Order after a tragedy, is thought dead. Eight years after his "death" they find each other again. I enjoyed their story but didn't get really emotionally engaged right from the start. Mira & Kellen were in love before his disappearance and I did think they fell back into it, especially physically, a little too easily. However by the last half of the story, Kellen's honor & Mira's sacrifice were more moving. And their road to finally be together was nowhere near as easy as it seemed like it might be in the beginning.

Since the Breed are basically immortal, the gang from the first books is still around. But they didn't steal the scene from the new generation. There were some hints dropped about future couples and intriguing new personalities to get to know. I'm looking forward to being able to spend more time in this world.
