I do really like this romantic suspense series featuring investigative reporters. I like that it gives it a different angle that I don't see too often in the genre. This book started a little bit slow and tough reading for me. The leads are both very secretive, closed off people and that makes it a bit difficult to get to know them. Add the disturbing nature of the investigation (human trafficking/forced prostitution) and it wasn't a book I was running to pick up every moment. But as Julian and Tessa are thrown together and their relationship starts to build I got much more invested in it. When all the events of the investigation, their relationship and betrayals start to come together it really picks up and in the end I loved Julian and Tessa together. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
