Cursor's Fury - Jim Butcher it was so much fun to visit with Tavi and company again. He really comes into his own in this book, becoming a strategist, soldier & leader. He's such a likable character that you really root for him to succeed. Bernard & Amara are also on hand with a hostage rescue. And Isana's storyline gives more answers about the past and Tavi's parentage (which has been hinted at but now is fully revealed)

One thing Butcher does so well in both this series and Dresden are those moments when your hero triumphs, though often outmatched, through sheer ingenuity and balls. There's plenty of that here and this is becoming one of my favotite fantasy series. I'm not a big fan of the current 'gritty' trend in fantasy. I believe you can be realistic without all the brutality and especially the rape. Here is a boos example, the story is exciting, our heroes are often in peril, people get hurt, and there are certainly morally gray characters but in there end there's a sense of hope that keeps it from being bleak. Can't wait to read book 4!
